The BLOGFOREVER project aims to provide digital preservation, management and dissemination facilities for weblogs. The vision of the project is to build a simple end-to-
end digital archiving solution for weblogs that any user, user group, institution or organisation could use to:
- easily preserve their weblog(s) in a cost efficient manner safeguarding their authenticity and integrity
- promote open access to information
- manage large volumes of weblog archives
- interact with their archives in various ways such as full text searching, tagging, sharing and reusing content
- collaborate with other users using the archive‟s content
- publish selected information to the web
BLOGFOREVER will create a digital repository web application which will be able to capture, preserve and disseminate information from weblogs aiming to significantly reduce the loss of irreplaceable information. Potential users of this infrastructure and expected benefits for them are:
